Education Workshops
Our workshops are built for both coaches and athletes wanting to learn the essentials of strength & conditioning in rowing.
The coaches' workshop gives rowing coaches the skills to safely create and implement strength & conditioning sessions for athletes across a range of experience levels. This primarily focuses on understanding correct technique, exercise selection and gym safety. We also explore how to programme throughout the season, ensuring the correct sessions are done at the correct time.
Athlete workshops aim to give the rowers an understanding of how to lift safely and correctly across a range of weights and intensities. Our workshops available are:
-
Strength & Conditioning for Rowing: Understanding the Basics
-
Strength & Conditioning for Rowing: Advanced Lifting
-
Strength & Conditioning for Rowing: Prepare for Racing
-
Introduction to Plyometrics
-
Introduction to Olympic Lifting
Testing Days
Testing days are essential to quantify athlete progression. We take athletes through a screening process, with the tests carefully selected to reflect the demands of the rowing stroke and the training needed. These include tests for mobility, muscular endurance and strength.
Subsequently, each athlete will receive a round-up of their results, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. Equally, coaches will receive a thorough analysis of the results and an action plan on how to improve the results of the squad.
Club Assessments
Bespoke club assessments analyse the current strength & conditioning support offered to the athletes.
We investigate the quality of training and programming in the context of the goals of the club and the standard of the athletes. The coaching team will subsequently receive feedback regarding the strengths and areas for growth, including tools on how to implement these changes, ensuring better support for the athletes moving forward.
